UPSTATE METAL & IICJZII presents
THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE
ABSENCE OF THE SUN
PATHOGENIC / ANDERSON LANE
FEBRUARY WEEKEND WARRIOR Tour & Compilation Album

The state of Massachusetts can be noted for putting out some of the biggest Metal & Hardcore bands to date. Unearth, Killswitch Engage, Blood for Blood - these bands have made a massive imprint in the heavy music landscape and have forged a path that many fellow New England bands hope to follow. Since the early years of the 2000s, many new breeds of the Metal & Hardcore genres have made their mark with differing rates of success. The short-lived Grindcore and over-populated Epic Metal movements left many desiring for heavy music with substance. What remains is that headbanging and moshing haven’t gone out of style. With that notion in mind, we’re here to bring together some of the finest underground bands around for a brief string of groundbreaking shows. February 24th – 26th Upstate Metal & IICJZII bring the WEEKEND WARRIOR tour featuring THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, ABSENCE OF THE SUN, PATHOGENIC, & ANDERSON LANE. These are bands that promise to deliver the best of the new breeds and they’ll be performing at some of New England’s finest Heavy Metal music venues.
THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, based out of Mansfield, Pennyslvania, will leave you wondering why they don’t hail from in Mansfield, Massachusetts. You’d expect a band of this nature to be a major player in the scene centering around Worcester’s infamous venue the Palladium. In extent of that, the Deathcore genre has blown up in the past few years thanks to record labels like Sumerian, Mediaskare, and even Century Media paying attention to what the listeners of the 2010s want to hear. THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE, formed in 2010, have been making their mark and turning heads with recent tours and stand tall as one of the more influential unsigned bands in the Deathcore scene. Reading the band’s lyrics will give fans of Deathcore a gaping smile and instill in them an eagerness to share their love & hate for the songs in a live show setting.
Those looking for a band who writes shred-heavy songs telling the story of Earth’s decent into darkness and the decay of civilization can be pointed in the direction of Portland, Maine’s ABSENCE OF THE SUN. That name has been on the tip of people’s devil horns around New England for half a decade, all the while starting as a handful of young teens burning everything in their way to achieve eternal sanctity of badass metal. As of recent, ABSENCE OF THE SUN has been working on their finest piece of work to date with producer Ken Susi (guitarist of Unearth). The band will emerge four new songs to the world in 2012, coincidentally enough determined by prophets of the final year of human existence. One of the new songs can be heard on the WEEKEND WARRIOR tour compilation.
Supporting the tour is Lowell, Massachusetts, Progressive Metal act PATHOGENIC and the Hybrid Melodic Metalcore band ANDERSON LANE of Haverhill, Massachusetts. Each night, these four bands will be delivering their own specialty of Metal. We can assure that the WEEKEND WARRIOR tour will give everyone in the Metal & Hardcore scene of New England to get excited for.
